Engineering Technician

An Engineering Technician is responsible for working many of the hands on projects either self-derived or at the direction of another member of the engineering team. Collaboration with engineering to generate innovative and practical solutions to new and existing problems using fundamental engineering analysis and scientific method is required. An emphasis on process improvement and automation of current and future processing methods is one of the focuses of this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review, author, evaluate, and/or approve technical data including models, drawings, specifications, requirements, and procedures.
  • Develop technical solutions including PLC integration, use of robotics, addition of automated concepts, etc. to create innovative and cost effective manufacturing alternatives to existing processes.
  • Initiative to find ways of cutting costs with existing processes and following through with solutions to those problems.
  • Complete hands-on work with production and product development personnel to support process qualifications, new product development, and fabrication of first articles.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual, and reliable attendance as set by the supervisor according to handbook guidelines consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Abide by all safety, quality, personnel, and other policies as applicable.
Marginal Duties
  • Function as lead technical contact for internal and external communications.
  • Support continuous process improvement measures.
  • Specification testing per customer and certification requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned for the good of the department and company.
Work Qualifications:
  • Formal education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in related areas.
  • Computer Skills: Must be able to use common office software and engineering software systems (Solidworks and/or Catia preferred).
  • Certificates and Licenses: None required.
