This fast-paced, automotive supplier is seeking a Production Supervisor for their manufacturing facility.  The company supplies to the automotive industry and is diverse in their customer base. The Production Supervisor will report to an Area Manager and will have up to 15 direct reports. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the overall day-to-day performance of the production area, including the following:
  • Meeting daily, weekly and monthly production requirements and goals
  • Making daily adjustments in manpower
  • Training and evaluating the hourly workforce
  • Finding, initiating and maintaining process improvements, including efficiency improvement, scrap reduction and equipment downtime
  • Assisting engineering and maintenance with mechanical equipment troubleshooting
  • Maintaining safety and quality of a designated area
  • Other duties as directed by management  
This position requires candidates to be on the floor up to 90% of their day.  Any exposure or certifications in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies will be strongly desired.  Candidates should have continuous improvement and scrap reduction skills, be energetic, have the ability to coach and mentor others, be able to take ownership of projects, have good work history and enjoy floor presence.  Qualified individuals will have good math skills.

Requirements for the Production Supervisor:
1. High school diploma;  an Associate’s Degree in a technical, materials or operations field preferred
2. At least 2-4 years of RECENT production supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment 
3. The ability to make process improvements
4. Experience overseeing others, 10-15 as a minimum
5. The ability to work 12-hour shifts
6. Basic math skills
7. Strong leadership skills
8. Microsoft Office  
Skills that are preferred, BUT NOT required:
1. Lean or Six Sigma certifications
2. Automotive supplier or OEM experience
3. Military background
4. Strong mechanical background
