The Project Manager will work with state developers, regional developers, site selection consultants, real estate companies, and existing businesses to assist in attracting and retaining business within the county.  The position will report to and work closely with the Executive Direction implementing the recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Recruiting confidential prospective businesses and assisting local businesses in retention and/or expansion by providing information to corporate real estate representatives and site selection consultants, coordination of site visits, and facilities projects through the incentive and approval process
  • Project Management activities to include: requests for proposals, requests for information submitted by prospects, preparing proposals and/or presentations for prospects, existing industry visits, and coordinating and conduction site tours during visitations
  • Strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of all communication activities
  • Manage website, press releases, publications, advertising, collateral, and other materials with regard to copy, design, production, editorial consistency, including e-blasts.
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate programs that enhance the visibility of public perception of the office
  • Develop specific communication plans for any major changes, initiatives, or projects
  • Gather information and take photographs for all internal and external communications
  • Manage internal and external communications, including media, social media, website, and weekly emails
  • Plan and execute activities and events for industry, including Industry Appreciation events and other
  • Maintain and coordinate communication with county partnerships, municipalities, utilities, and existing industry HR directors
  • Work with colleges and school districts to coordinate a foundation for the industrial workforce
  • Plan and coordinate events (luncheons, groundbreaking ceremonies, receptions, etc.)
  • Maintain and update all mailing lists and databases
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration/Relations or related fields and five years’ experience in economic development of business.
  • Certified Economic Developer status is a plus
  • Computer Experience with working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and various forms of Social Media
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and the ability to maintain strong working relationships with various supportive economic development organizations, utilities, real estate brokers and developers, existing industry, and the general public.
  • Must be self-motivated with and present a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Experience working with industrial and commercial businesses
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to read, understand, and develop business plans and complex reports, and work under demanding deadlines.
