Job Description

Field Service & Engineering Manager - IMMEDIATE HIRE


Position is for a Service & Engineering Manager to oversee and manage Field Service Technicians; to collectively support our North American Customers, facilitate communication between our factory and out technicians, to best serve our customers; providing service and consultation to our customers for our products, repair, maintenance and installation services on existing and/or newly acquired ID/OD CNC Grinding Machines and Turn-Key cells installations.  Additional consultative service related to Grinding Process and overall Process Development.  
Management skills a requirement, language skills a plus (Italian and Spanish).
 
Management and Service Responsibilities
Manage Service Team to perform:
  • Prior to arrival at field assignment location, study, plan and prepare for field work based on the scope of work, drawings and specification.
  • Machine preparation at factory, to ready the machine / Turn-Key Cells for customer pre-acceptance commissioning.
  • Provide advisory service during installation, checkout, start-up and commissioning.
  • Perform commissioning service on customer site.
  • Coordinate field activity with the customer and/or the customer’s contractor(s) to maintain the specified schedule.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems and advise on corrective action and repairs.
  • Keep accurate records regarding job progress, delays, problems, deliveries, changes, extras and engineering.
  • Submit internal daily/weekly or project based reports covering activity at the customer location.
  • Perform training of the clients personnel in mechanical, operational and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Be expected to answer customer phone calls after normal business hours as required.
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 Years of field of engineering with equivalent experience, specific experience in Production ID/OD Grinding Process.  A preference would be for the candidate to be related to the Bearing or Automotive Industries.  Competent knowledge of CNC Grinding machines, their process, maintenance and repair. 
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Valid Passport.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical and instrumentation knowledge and abilities a must.
  • Ability to read and interpret imperial and metric tape measure's, dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, and hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic drawings.
  • Ability to travel with extended duration's (1 week to 4 weeks), both domestically or abroad.  First year will require additional travel to our factory in Italy for training (3-week visits).
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a talent for working with other people effectively; fellow employees, customers and contractors.
  • Capability of making quick, accurate decisions relative to problem solution and problem liability.
  • A basic ability on ACAD or similar programs.
  • Familiar with Siemens and/or Fanuc PLC or CNC programming on a troubleshooting level.
  • The person must be computer literate, MS Office.
  • Bi-Lingual a plus, but not required.  Factory is located in Italy.
