  • Reports to the Distribution Manager
  • Initial direct reports to this position are the shipping office lead, shipping clerks (3), label and outside processing technician (1), and shipping fork lift driver associates (4).
  • Responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the shipping office to include transportation, shipping, shipment paperwork, labeling, and outside processing for both retail and wholesale divisions. 
  • Transportation:
    • Day to day scheduling / dispatching of carriers.
    • Maintain routing file / evaluate carrier performance.
    • Freight bill reconciliation and auditing.
    • Freight claims processing for OS&D.
  • Shipping and shipment paperwork:
    • Work flow scheduling of shipping dock and fork lift personnel.
    • Processing of Bills of Lading, international documentation, and shipment reports where required.
    • End of day processing, problem resolution, Phastship discrepancy research.
  • Labeling / outside processing:
    • Work with IT to maintain equipment necessary to print appropriate labels to include UPC’s, pricing, compliance, and made to order labels.
    • Manage system databases that house the various labeling programs.
  • Communication:
    • Daily, even hourly interaction with warehouse supervision and management.
    • Daily warehouse operations update meetings / weekly retail operations meetings.
    • Weekly (at minimum) calls / meetings with outside processing managers.
    • Daily interaction with customer service.
    • Occasional interaction with finance / accounting.
    • As required interaction with information technology department.
  • Safety, Sanitation, Security:
    • Ensure that all safety procedures and policies are followed to ensure a safe workplace.
    • Review warehouse operations daily to ensure the warehouse is neat and well organized and that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented. 
    • Become familiar with ADT security systems and warehouse security operations.

  • Qualifications:
    • Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
    • Knowledge / Skills:  familiarity with printers, copiers, fax and scan equipment is needed.  Must be PC literate and have a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
    • Must possess the ability to function in a fast-paced operation environment.
    • Must possess the ability to multi-task under pressure.
    • Must be willing to work additional hours when required.
  • Special requirements:  experience in a warehouse / shipping supervisory environment a plus.
