A company that manufactures tight tolerance plastic connectors for the glass fiber industry is searching for a Plastic Injection Mold Tooling Technician to maintain and repair plastic injection molding tooling on an off shift. The Plastic Injection Mold Tooling Technician will also help fabricate molds, mold components, and fixtures using CNC mills and manual machine tool equipment.



  • Assists in managing tool room inventory by maintaining a supply of frequently used perishables including but not limited to; cutting tools, fasteners, metal, mold components and fluids.
  • Reviews blueprints and specifications to determine product requirements.
  • Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
  • Measures and marks dimensions and reference points on material as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Designs fixtures and components to maintain and repair tooling, allowing injection machinery to meet specified dimensions and tolerances of finished product.
  • Programs and operates CNC mills, mills, cutting tools, lathes, grinders, etc. to construct metal, aluminum, and plastic components and fixtures for tooling.
  • Operates welding equipment to cut or weld parts.
  • Installs machined replacement parts in injection molds to ensure functionality and accurate performance.
  • Verifies conformance of finished part to specifications.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, and others to resolve tooling issues.


  • Associates in Machine Tool Technology or related degree; and/or 3+ years of professional production machining experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with CNC Programming would be a plus
  • Experience with MasterCam, AutoCad, or Solidworks is a plus.
