It offers a higher level of service than what is typically found in a community of its size including open-heart surgery, trauma care, a Level II neonatal intermediate care unit, neurosurgery and
comprehensive cancer services.

Summary:


We are looking for the right fit for the culture of our organization and our Cancer Service Line.The ideal candidate is a person whose focus is on what is best for the patient and our organization. Responsible for the leadership, vision, and overall operations of all service line functions within the healthcare system.   Creates and promotes strategic planning for service line growth and development.  Business expert who supports the physicians in the service line by serving in a leadership role in interactions with administration, peers, staff, other physicians and the community.


CANCER SERVICES SERVICE LINE SPECIFIC DUTIES



  • Operational responsibility for Hematology/Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Breast Comprehensive Care and Palliative Care at the Cancer Care Center.
  • Reporting responsibilities include: Practice Manager, Clinical Managers, Operations Managers
  • Develops and implements a plan for effective access, delivery and utilization of cancer services in the Primary and Secondary (regional) service areas.
  • Participates in Service Line and PC meetings, serves on hospital committees and is involved in development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for development, implemental, evaluation and performance improvement of a comprehensive cancer program. Program includes services that relate to the continuum of care from prevention/detection and diagnosis, to treatment, palliative care and survivorship. Programs and services will meet the needs of inpatients, outpatients, and the community at large; and will address the physical, emotional, spiritual care needs of patients and their families and friends.
  • The director works to ensure oncology patients receive treatment for all primary oncology diagnoses, striving to meet the physical, psychological and spiritual needs of such patients through collaboration with the medical staff and other hospital disciplines through a multi-disciplinary team approach.


  1. ·        Oversees continued cancer related accreditations.

Minimum Qualifications:   



  • Current Ohio RN licensure or relevant clinical field
  • Master's degree in business, nursing, management or healthcare related field.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years progressively more responsible related work experience; leadership experience in a large clinical environment, driving change management. 
  • A minimum of three (3) years hospital-based clinical operations management experience; fulfills position regulatory requirements when applicable. 
  • Experience with health care management of service line related disease.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to direct multiple departments, develop business plans and meet established goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of computer software related to clinical information management.

  • Reports to COO, (who is an RN)
  • Medical Director of Cancer Services is very involved and aggressive from the standpoint of customer service and showing the organization ‘how it should be done’; he has also taken a lead role in modifying MD behavior
  • Prior leadership in cancer services is a must
  • This is one of our fastest growing service lines and most heavily marketed; the candidate must be able to hit the ground running; this is not a position for the person wanting to take the next step (they need to have taken that step already)

The competitive compensation starts at $118K and up commensurate with experience as well as a full benefits package including relocation assistance.
